Remember this blog post where I taught you how to make the cute yarn Love sign? Well, here’s a short tutorial on the half round bunting I hung with it! This cost me nothing because I had everything on hand.

I just chose fabrics that coordinated, dug out some jute twine, and reused the Wonder Under from my son’s Birthday shirt. You can find Wonder Under in the part of the fabric store that sells interfacing. The people who work there can direct you to it! Also, you don’t need to use twine. String, yarn, baker’s twine, or very thin ribbon would all work fine.

Start by cutting out circles of fabric. I used the bottom of a vase to draw my circles and just cut them out. For the Wonder Under, I used the same vase but cut them inside the line a bit. I didn’t want that to stick out between the layers of fabric in the finished bunting. Just a note, you only need half as many Wonder Under circles as you have fabric circles. You use one half of each circle per little flag.

Place your circle right side down. The wrong side should be facing up. Cut the Wonder Under circles in half and place half of one on the lower half of the fabric circle. Iron it down and then give it a second to cool and remove the paper backing. Make sure your twine is right in the center of the fabric circle.

Then fold the top portion of the fabric circle over the twine and iron it down. Do this until all your fabric circles are ironed on and you’re done. Hang it up and admire your handiwork!

I love to decorate my “mantle” for the seasons. Since I don’t have a real mantle, I grabbed a wide shelf from Ikea and I decorate that! I thought I’d share some of my quick and inexpensive decorations for Valentine’s Day.

I saw this idea on Pinterest last year. It wasn’t a blog post, it was just one of those picture collages that doesn’t link to anything. But it was pretty self explanatory and turned out so cute!!

You start by grabbing a metal hanger and a pair of pliers. Bend the hanger into the shape of the word Love. I clipped off the end with the wire snip part of the pliers. Actually, I think these were some sort of electrical wire pliers but you can just use regular needle nose ones.

Find some thicker, fluffy yarn and start winding! When you get to the joints where the two pieces meet, just wind them together to connect them. Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a little tutorial on how to make the no sew bunting that is pictured above!

Do you need a quick update to your mantle before company arrives for Thanksgiving? I threw this mantle together in about a half hour, with things I already had on hand!

I began with an old wooden window and attached a fall wreath with brown velvet ribbon. I put a tack through the inside of the loop so it can’t be seen from the front. Then, I filled a pitcher with fall colored silk flowers.

The pumpkins had me stumped a bit because I felt like with the tall window, I needed more height than just setting them on the shelf. So I used a tall candlestick and also a thing that used to have a topiary in it. The topiary bit the dust, but I thought I might be able to reuse the base for something. I think it worked great!

I used this site for the Thanksgiving printable and popped it into a frame I had laying around with my extra home decor stuff. There’s gobs of other free printables on Pinterest if you just search for them.

So there you have it! Super cute. Super inexpensive. Super festive. Happy Thanksgiving!
